
Sunkissd Club: branding a sun care brand for the premium beauty market
Sunkissd Club is a sun care brand built for a generation that treats UV protection as a non-negotiable part of a beauty routine rather than an afterthought. The brief was to build a brand that felt as considered and desirable as a skincare brand, not a sunscreen brand.
The brief
Sun care is a category dominated by either mass-market sporty aesthetics or clean beauty minimalism. Sunkissd Club wanted neither. The goal was a brand with a strong point of view on the relationship between sun, skin, and lifestyle. It needed to appeal to an audience that buys Augustinus Bader and Aesop, not one that's looking for the highest SPF at the lowest price.
The approach
We positioned the brand around the pleasure of being in the sun, not the fear of it. The visual identity uses warmth, texture, and movement to create a brand that feels genuinely joyful rather than medically cautious. The palette is drawn from light and shadow rather than the tropical brights of mass sun care. The logo is designed to work across packaging, apparel, and digital with equal strength.
The art direction guidelines were built to produce content that looks like a vacation you actually want to go on, not a dermatology pamphlet.
The outcome
Sunkissd Club launched with a fully coherent brand, packaging, and launch visual system that positioned them clearly in the premium segment and gave their content team a framework for producing consistent output independently.
